A fishing chair is probably low in priority on most fishermen’s’ list of fishing gear to buy. This is quite misguided, however, as the best rod and line in the world won’t help you when you’re tired and looking for a place to sit down in comfort. In this article I’ll discuss some of the features that go into the making of a good fishing seat.

On most fishing trips you will be standing or sitting on bumpy terrain and the stability of your chair is of paramount importance. The stool type is not suitable for this and it is better to look for a chair with four legs that can be fully adjusted. This will give you the security and confidence you must have to avoid accidents.

It goes without saying that a good seat needs to offer proper support and comfort. The thin padding and non-adjustable backs of the less expensive chairs make them uncomfortable to use for long periods. When looking at different seats check the padding thickness; it should be substantial and give good support. To give support to back an adjustable backrest is a must. It is worth paying a little more to have this extra comfort.

The type of material used in the chair’s construction is also very important. Obviously they are going to be used in conditions that are not very kind to the usual materials used in chair construction so good quality here is necessary. As well as being waterproof the material should be very hard-wearing and be able to withstand all sorts of knocks and bumps.

Another consideration is all the little extras that the more expensive seats usually have. These include things like built-in pockets to hold small tools or personal items. They sometimes also have armrests that swivel out of the way when necessary. These additional conveniences can all help to make for a more enjoyable experience when fishing.

For fishing expeditions where you are going to be camping overnight another variation of the normal type of seat is available. This is the bedchair, a product that is mainly for sleeping but can be turned into a chair of sorts. Not as comfortable as the regular chair for sitting, but well worth considering if you don’t want to have to purchase a bed and a chair separately.

It pays to shop around when buying. Remember to look for a chair that gives strength, stability and all-round comfort. It needs to be made from good quality, hard-wearing materials that will last and keep its good looks. Bear these tips in mind and you should be able to make a good choice.

Fishing can be made much more comfortable and a more enjoyable experience if you have a good fishing chair.

Off-road enthusiasts can find entertaining and fun mod-bogging 4×4 videos easily. Many fans and participants of this sport drive their cars, SUV’s and trucks in and through different pits of mud and tracks. The majority of the time these drivers take part in a day long, or even several days of bogging simply for the fun of it. There are however occasions when actual awards and cash can be won too.

Mud bogging is also a sport that has taken off for the young and old, men and women. It’s become quite popular even in the county fair circuit. Many county fairs throughout the nation promote mud bogging, demolition derby’s and 4×4 monster truck races.

To get an idea of what all happens and goes on with this off-road sensation, you can simply go online and watch these bogging videos. When your search leads you to the place you are trying to find, just click on the video link and see how it works. Many are racing and others are just bogging in and out of mud pits, holes and tracks. When they are not competing, they are just trying to see if they can get through the challenge without getting stuck.

Most people start into the mud bogging with an old car or truck. They modify the suspension, axles and tires to be able to conquer the terrain. Soon enough, they begin to upgrade that car or truck or move on to a newer one… Bigger, and better. As you can see in some videos, there are even some people that bog on their lawn and farm tractors.

When you are on these mud bogging websites, you will see an entire online community to be a part of. From blogs and articles to videos and classified ad’s, you can find many ways to enjoy this sport. While it’s obvious that these videos are exciting and enjoyable to watch, many may not realize the educational factor. As a driver or spectator, you can easily watch what you can or should be doing as a participant as well as what not to do. These videos can also expose the more dangerous side of this activity.

There are few things in life as entertaining and as suspenseful as driving trucks in mud. Mud trucking is truly one of the last great American made activities people can enjoy today. Not all trucks can withstand the tests and strains they will face when driving through thick mud though. This article will help you find the best vehicle you can buy to make your mudding experiences as entertaining as possible.

The most important part of your vehicle purchase is the model you are going to buy. There are many different 4 wheeler options available to you today and many people have a variety of opinions on this subject. Some of the most commonly used trucks are Jeeps, Blazers, and Dodges. These vehicles generally have to be modified to meet the demands of the mud.

Modifications are the next most important aspect of your purchase. There are many modifications you can buy today. The most popular modifications include engine mods, vehicle suspension mods, and wheel mods.

By giving your engine more power, you will have the ability to get out of even the toughest spots. High powered engines can give you more torque to get up those steep hills and can give you the boost you need when you get stuck in a tight spot.

Suspension modifications are almost necessary to enjoy the finer mud trucking activities, because you need the additional clearance to get your vehicle over rocks and through bogs. By just raising your truck an addition 6-12 inches, you can greatly enhance your mud trucking excursions and expand on the type of terrain you can traverse.

Wheels are also important when driving trucks in mud. In most cases, the wheels complement the other mods you have installed. When you have more power, you can get bigger wheels too.

The more lift and can be achieved and the bigger the motor will give you more advantage in tough situations,

The fun really starts when you get your own mudding truck. Jack it up higher and go through deeper mud to get bragging rights.

Sometimes when you grow up in the country, you have to get creative when it comes to entertainment. Some of the most fun things to do involve little more than some rowdy company who isn’t scared to get a little dirty. I’m certain that’s how one the beloved pastimes for county young people got its start. Some folks decided to test out just how good their four-wheel drive vehicles can handle extreme situations. This activity is better known as mud bogging to those who do it.

There are some things you should know if you are trying to understand this sport. The first being that yes, it is considered a sport to those who participate in it. Another thing being what all is involved in a typical mud bogging experience. I will briefly touch on set ups and how to optimize your mud pit and “mudder” (your vehicle you take to the mud bog).

I should start by saying again that this is in fact a sport that is nationwide. While perhaps less noteworthy than football or something like that, mud bogging is growing in popularity all the time. In the south, mud bogging goes on all year, since the warm weather is ideal for mud production. The more north you go, however, the more mud bogging becomes seasonal according to the fluctuation in weather patterns.

You need two things to have a successful mud bog: a good ride and good mud. I will address the vehicles later, so we’ll discuss the mud. Typically this is laid out in trench a little wider than the vehicles themselves. It spans anywhere from 1/8 of a mile to a full one depending on the location. If you have a good deal of space and time to set it up, the longer, deeper, and better all around the bog is.

In order to win a mud bog, the driver must pass through the trench of mud successfully. Seems simple enough, right? When you account for the mud being up to 4 feet deep in some cases, it gets a little tricky. Sometimes there will be several that complete the line and make it out of the other side, while alternatively there will be several bogs that see no one safe from being pulled back out. The rules state that whoever made it the farthest wins in the event that no one makes it out without help and if several make it through, the truck with the best time doing so is declared winner.

If you are considering competing in a bog, you have to have the right equipment. This means you have to get a vehicle that can pull you through the trench without blowing itself up. This usually means you need a jeep or a truck; they have strong engines and high rise bodies. Most say not high enough, though, as many mud bogging specialists would encourage new comers to “jack ‘em up”. Meaning, get a lift kit and put on some oversized tires to shred through even the deepest ditches.

Often times, the racers will only be competing for bragging rights until the next bog. Sometimes there is a hat passed around to collect a pot among the racers and spectators for the winner of the event. This keeps the sport selective to the areas. No sponsors, no contracts, just good ole’ boys and girls pushing engines to the limit.

Truth be told, mud bogging is an exciting thing to watch as well as participate in. I know from experience. It will never be as big as baseball, but it can certainly say it has made its mark on the adventurous youth of rural America.

When you grow up in the country, you have to be creative when it comes to entertainment. This pasttime is better known as mud bogging to those who do it. Mud bogging may never be as big as football, but it has cemented a place for itself among outdoor gamers..

For those who spend their life living in a shirt and tie behind a corporate desk there is a secret passion that is known to not many outside of their families. This passion is one of the darkest and dirtiest activates known to man. What is the things that is so dirty that they cannot share it except with their most intimate friends? MUD! More specifically the thrill and joy of going out to the back woods and making a big old sloppy mess of themselves tearing it up in a mudding 4×4 on the weekends.

Mudding is without a doubt one of the best ways to get to have a little good “clean” fun on a weekend. You can hang out with your friends and family, have a cook out, sing, laugh enjoy great conversation and good times and best of all, you get to sling mud around, get dirty and act like a little kid again. Of course to have the most fun you will need to have a truck of your own, after all the more trucks the at a mud hole the better.

While the inclination when choosing a good truck to use as a mudding 4×4 is to go with one that is big and mean, the truth is that some of the best trucks to use for mudding are actually the smaller racing trucks. These trucks offer a lot of the key features that you want in a good mud truck. Things such as a good torque transfer rate, a powerful engine and stable suspension are all essential to not only having fun, but also to mudding safely.

One of the biggest considerations when putting together your mud truck is the ability to get the mud out of the truck as easily as it got in. This is where some minor alterations to the trucks interior might come in handy. One thing that you may want to do is to change out the seats with a single hard plastic bench seat that you can find in any off road trucking magazine or website products area. You also want to make it easy to flush the interior out with a high pressure hose so you will of course want to drill drain holes in the bottom of the floor board and in the truck bed.

You also want to make sure that you are taking enough precautions to keep things safe. This means that you will probably want to change out the vehicles seat belt system with three or five point harnesses. Since you will be driving at very high speeds though very slick and boggy messes you will want to also make sure that every rider is buckled. These are just common sense precautions just in case things get a little out of control.

If things get too out of control you may find yourself having to wade waist deep back to the dry land in a bog of mud. So how do you get the truck out without a very expensive tow truck call? Simple, installing a winch on the trucks front or in the bed will allow you to get yourself of your messy sticky gumbo jam yourself.

Owning a mudding 4×4 can be great fun and the act of going out with your friends and playing in the mud on the weekends can bring a new level of enjoyment and appreciation for life in to your existence. If you have never been mudding give it a try. You’ll love it.

A mudding 4×4 is a fun way to pass the time and lose a little steam after a tough week. The fun time starts when you own your very own mudding 4×4, next time you go out get behind the wheel of your very own mud bogging truck.

Though legal sports betting is prohibited in the US by Federal law, there has been in recent years a re-examination of its logic on a variety of levels. Part of this is a desire for new revenue sources, while part is simply a growing acceptance of gambling in all forms. Ultimately, the true injustice of banning sports betting lies in its contempt for the Constitution.

Unfortunately, the Congress of the United States has shown very little respect for the Constitution in recent years. Were it to abide strictly by the role outlined for it by the founding fathers, the Legislative Branch of our government would have to relinquish any number of its powers in a variety of areas. The primary problem with our Congress is that it has increasingly become a collection of career politicians rather than a body representative of its constituency. As a result, the overriding concern of the average Senator or Congressman is increasing the power that he is able to wield, and as a result the power that his body is able to bring to bear.

The Federal prohibition of sports wagering which was enacted a few years back is of very dubious Constitutionality. Were it not for the grandfather clause, which allowed it to remain legal in jurisdictions in which it already existed, it would have certainly been struck down as unconstitutional on a number of different fronts. Ironically, the Nevada gaming industry wasnt too concerned at the passage of this law; indeed, they certainly liked the fact that they could go about business as usual while potential competition from other states for the sports wagering dollar was completely curtailed.

The mere fact that a proposed law or initiative is unconstitutional offers no protection for the citizenry. If a politician can suggest that a law is for ‘the children’ many will swallow the bait hook line and sinker. In many cases such prohibitive legislation contradicts one of the most important concepts in the Constitution–that of the right to sovereignty and self-determination of the individual states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The overriding concern of the writers and framers of the Constitution was that the personal liberty of the individual not be violated by a too-powerful central government. In other words, unless the power in question has been expressly given to the Federal government by the Constitution, and/or unless it has expressly been prohibited to the states (as in the case of treaty making) it is the right of each individual state to govern themselves as they see fit. If an individual state chooses not to regulate a certain activity, it is the right of each individual citizen to make their own decision.

So, you should be asking yourself at this point, where exactly does the Constitution delegate to the Federal government the right to make policy on sports gambling? The answer is that it doesnt, and it is very questionable that they have the Constitutional authority to do so. The sanctimonious blowhards who oppose sports betting would like to think they know best, but fortunately for all freedom loving Americans the founding fathers would beg to differ.

Sports gambling may seem a minimally important issue to some, but the erosion of liberty is an incremental danger. The danger to broader concepts of personal liberty may seem a million miles away, but with each additional law intended to protect us from this or that the Federal government becomes larger and more powerful and the rights of the sovereign states”and the individuals that comprise them”are shrinking and being weakened.

South America will host the Summer Olympic Games for the first time in 2016, as Rio De Janeiro, Brazil was awarded the honor on Friday. Rio beat out the US choice of Chicago, Illinois along with Tokyo, Japan and Madrid, Spain to earn the right to host the games. Despite a high pressure effort from the American power elite–including President Barak Obama and TV gabfest queen Oprah Winfrey–Chicago was the first city eliminated from contention. Tokyo was the next to go, before Rio got the nod over Madrid in the final round of balloting.

Bookmakers offered odds on the host city choice, with Rio listed as second favorite at +200. Chicago had been the wagering favorite at most books, particularly after President Obama got involved personally in the US bid effort. Chicago was bet as high as a -300 favorite, while Madrid and Tokyo were priced in the +250 range. Some suggest that Tokyo didnt deserve to have such short odds, but was the beneficiary of regional pride from the notoriously enthusiastic betting population of Japan.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, got the better of his US counterpart with a passionate speech that stood in marked contrast to Obamas typically baleful collection of talking points. The Brazilian leader stressed the unfairness that South America had never hosted the games in his speech to the committee;

“It is a time to address this imbalance. It is time to light the Olympic cauldron in a tropical country.”

The Olympic committee was apparently swayed by this presentation and paid no mind to Rios many downsides. It is without a doubt the most dangerous of the finalist cities, where drug cartels and armed bands of thugs roam without impunity. Well do to Rio citizens are used to removing watches and jewelry before they drive anywhere lest they be targeted by carjacking brigands. Rios murder rate is also one of the highest in the world. Brazilian bid officials have stressed that security will be a priority at the games and it better be lest the Olympics turn into a bloodbath.

Some IOC members suggested that the summary dismissal of Chicagos bid was more of a rebuke of the notoriously corrupt USOC. The last two Olympics held in the US were tainted by crime and corruption. The’96 Atlanta Olympics were disrupted by a terrorist bombing, while the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games were marred by a well known bribery and corruption scandal.

ATV’s were made for use in agriculture, for moving gear and getting around all over farm property. They have since turned into a sport for quite a few individuals and are at present even used for racing. Individuals love the thrill that ATV’s provide and also the vast range of ground that ATV’s open up for investigating. ATV’s will provide a lot of pleasure for riders and be a useful hobby.

ATV’s will also be dangerous, particularly for children. Adults are regularly injured when they lose management of an ATV and youngsters have even less ability and experience than adults. This is not to mention that children should not be permitted to use an ATV, however they need to adhere to strict safety rules in order to avoid harm.

Children ought to be taught that an ATV isn’t a toy and should be operated with care and with safety in mind. They must be made aware of all the security rules and in no way permitted to ride without supervision. If youngsters appreciate how unsafe ATV’s will be and what they have to do to stay safe, they can be at a abundant lower possibility of being hurt.

The most effective factor you’ll do for your child before they’re permitted to ride is make them go to an approved ATV coaching course. Many places require riders under sixteen to require a coaching lessons before they can legally use which could be a sensible plan anyway whether or not your area does not expect it. You should attend the coaching lessons with your child so that you are also acquainted with ATV safety and will put into effect the safety rules your kid learned.

An additional necessary safety practice for you and your youngster is riding the right sized ATV. Youngsters should never ride an grown-up sized ATV, as they are sometimes too massive for them to comfortably control and improve the likelyhood of injury. If you’re going to buy your child an ATV make certain you get a youth sized ATV that is not excessively large for your child. You ought to additionally think about the motor size as a more powerful engine means a faster ATV. Kids ought to only drive an ATV that they will be able to handle.

Sporting appropriate safety gear is additionally an necessary part of ATV safety. Children ought to invariably wear helmets, gloves, goggles, long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Most places need helmet use by law but even if they do not, a helmet ought to perpetually be used. Using safety gear can prevent several injuries that can happen when riders have an accident. Make sure that the protection equipment you get for your kid fits properly and is of high quality. You should make certain that the safety gear your child uses is rated for ATV use.

The last issue you ought to always do to keep your child safe, is to examine their ATV prior to every use. Teach your youngster how to examine their ATV as well and you’ll be able to then each make certain it stays in excellent working condition and will not stop working or malfunction throughout use. If you and your kid follow these safety guidelines, your kid will have a safe and enjoyable time with their ATV.

The author enjoys writing about common interest subjects. Another favorite is the toy kitchen set which her neice has given five thumbs up. Read more at KidKraftKitchen.org.

Alexis Arguello, one of the greatest boxers to ever compete at 130 pounds, was found dead in his Managua, Nicaragua home in early July of an apparent suicide. He was 57 years old. Arguello was the mayor of Nicaraguas capital city at the time of his death.

Known for his class outside the ring as much for his tenacity inside the ring, hes best known to casual fight fans for his epic war in 1982 with Aaron The Hawk Pryor when he moved up in weight after dominating at lighter weight classes. Though Arguello would lose via 14th round knockout (amid some controversy due to an apparent mystery drink offered to Pryor by his trainer Panama Lewis) it was a thrilling toe to toe battle that even the most knowledgeable boxing experts remember fondly to this day. Ring Magazine not only named it Fight of the Year, but later would dub it Fight of the Decade. Promoter Bob Arum offered these thoughts on Pryor/Arguello:

“It was a brutal, brutal fight. That was something I will never, ever forget as long as I live. That was one of the most memorable fights I ever did.”

Arguello is arguably the best lightweight and junior lightweight in the history of the sport. Arguello never lost a fight at 130 pounds and would end his career with an astounding 82-8 record with 65 knockouts and championships in three different weight classes. At the time, he was only the sixth man in boxing history to hold title belts at three different weights.

Ironically, Arguellos career didnt get off to a good start and he lost his debut in 1968 via first round TKO. After that, he seldom lost again. He was at his best against his toughest adversaries including Ray Mancini, Bobby Chacon and Ruben Olivares. Bob Arum remembered him not only as a great fighter, but as a great man:

“Not only was he one of the greatest fighters I’ve ever seen, he was the most intelligent fighter. He was a ring tactician. Every move was thought out. And he was a wonderful, wonderful person.”

The articulate, intelligent Arguello was frequently quoted on the fight game and how champions should conduct themselves. Here, he speaks of his attitude toward his opponents:

Of course after the fight you want to make sure that youre okay and so is the other guy, its a brotherhood in there, so you want to make sure everyone is okay after the war is over.

Arguello didnt fight for his first title until hed had 58 fights, and would frequently admonish boxers who didnt show the same respect for the sport or their status as champion:

When you won that title you should know now that you are representing a whole country or nation with your actions and you are now in a glass house or under a microscope and you better be ready to make your people proud.

Arguello loved boxing and fought to protect it from those who would undermine its greatness:

I respect boxing because it has given me so much and thats why I will never allow anyone to mistreat the sport of boxing if I can help it.

While the modest Arguello would never say it himself, that was for from a one sided debt and he contributed more than his fair share to the sport of boxing with his grace, intelligence, talent and toughness.

One of the most popular freshwater fish for anglers is the carp, which gets a lot of attention in Europe, but is still struggling to catch on in the United States. Carp fishing is a popular outdoor activity, and the large size and good fight of these fish is sure to help the growth of this sport continue. One thing every would be carper needs, however, is good fishing equipment.

There might be no piece of fishing gear more important than the rod. If you want a suitable fishing rod for carp, you will wan to find one that is at least medium action, and also at least six feet in length. For beginners, this is an ideal rod to get into this type of fresh water angling.

Next is the reel. A good reel for carp fishing is one that is open faced. You don’t want tangles inside a closed face reel screwing up everything. The reel should also be able to hold 150 yards or more of 12 pound test line.

Finding the right bait is important with any type of fish. Carp aren’t picky eaters, but some bait is going to work better than others. While many bass anglers love rapalas, the best tackle for carp is actually sticky and smelly bait. There are many specialty carp baits available, so test around and see what the carp in your area like best.

More advanced carpers will often use racks with several rods, or “pods,” and set them all up with bait and wait for any carp to show. These rod holders can be very expensive, but also free up the hands for anglers who don’t mind catching up on a good book while waiting for the trophy carp to show.

And of course there’s the all important fishing line. Kevlar fishing line is a popular choice among any anglers, although in the end the main concern is getting fishing line that is 12 pound test or better.

While there is big time fishing gear for carp anglers that costs a good deal of money, starting gear can be had for fairly cheap. Carp angling can be a very rewarding hobby that provides many hours of entertainment, making it a cheaper in the long run over many other forms of recreation.

These are some of the basic things you will want to look at when looking at some beginner’s gear for carp fishing. Follow the guidelines in this article and you will be looking at some serious success carping in no time.
