If you wake up in the middle of the night because you suffer from body aching, tossing and turning and restless leg syndrome, it may be time to get rid of your old bed and try something new. I am referring to beds and mattresses that contain visco foam. visco foam mattresses are known to give people the best nights sleep imaginable.
NASA developed Visco foam to decrease the extreme amounts of pressure caused by G. forces during take off and space shuttles. After developing Visco foam NASA decided not to use it. The result has landed Visco foam being used in the medical field and by mattress companies all over the world.
The reason mattress manufacturers showed interest in visco foam is because it allows the bed to elevate pressure points during sleep. Visco foam was extremely expensive when it first came out and could not be afforded by the general public. But in recent years it has become less expensive to produce and is now widely available in almost everyone’s price range.
Viscoelastic foam is a lot or denser than ordinary foam, making beds made out a viscoelastic foam much heavier than a traditional bed. Viscoelastic foam retains heat. By retaining heat during nights sleep, it allows those who have aching bodies to fill better the next day. Because of these attributes the most common uses of visco foam is in mattresses, pillows, and mattress topper’s.
Although mattresses containing visco elastic foam or nice, it is good to keep in mind that they are more expensive than a traditional mattress. But because of their awesome qualities they tend to outlast a normal mattress. Visco foam is made from polyurethane with added chemicals that help to increase its density and viscosity levels. Due to all the chemicals that they use when making viscoelastic foam, a new foam mattress will give off a distinct chemical odor that will only decrease over time.
