There are many factors which could lead to varicose veins, and they include pregnancy, genetics, extended periods of sittings or standing, hormonal abnormalities,and obesity. It is important to find out the cause before obtaining your treatment.

Obesity is also a factor in the veins becoming varicose. The strain from the extra weight on the legs causes the veins to be under more strain as well. You need to keep your body weight at a average level to help prevent varicose veins. Even cutting back on table salt can help you reduce your weight.

With a daily exercise routine to keep your body toned and the blood flowing good and a healthy diet you can lower the chance of getting varicose veins.

With age comes varicose veins too sometimes! Over time your blood veins loose their elasticity which then causes the blood to pool in your veins which gives them that varicose look. Deep vein thrombosis is also another cause of varicose veins, it leads to discoloration of the veins, making them a dark blue or purple color, and it twists the veins and gives the the look of being bulged.

Even overexposure to the sun can cause them! Yes, over exposure to the sun. Too much sun may cause varicose veins to appear on the face. Heredity can also play a vital role in whether or not you get varicose veins or not. Women with a family history of varicose veins are at a larger risk of getting the veins compared to some other people.

By using proper sun protection, keeping your body weight down, keeping up a healthy diet, and exercise regularly, you might be able to keep varicose veins at bay.
